HD-Ready LCD TV vs HD-Ready Plasma TV – which one should you buy?
If you are looking to buy a HDTV flat-screen, to watch High Definition TV, you have a choice between two different technologies, LCD and plasma. Both are very popular for a home cinema set-up, and each have pro's and con's. In the last few years, the LCD vs plasma TV choice has been pretty straight forward. If you wanted a massive screen (I'm talkng 40" or larger), the only option was to buy a cheaper plasma TV, anything smaller and most people buy LCD.
However, as LCD TV technology gets better, LCD HDTVs are getting much bigger, and many manufacturers are now predicting that LCD will over take plasma's as the big TV option. Experts are predicting that as the number of LCD TV's being produced increases the number of plasma TV's will decrease. However, if you are researching a HDTV flatscreen for today, then a HD-ready plasma screen still has many advantages.
HD-Ready LCD vs Plasma HDTV - The conclusion
Today LCD and Plasma Technology changes rapidly, although it is still true to suggest that for a TV of 40 inches and larger, a HD-Ready plasma TV offers the least expensive and generally better picture. For TV screens less than 40 inches you may want to buy a HDTV LCD. As LCD TV prices fall (and plasma TV's get bigger) this rule is likely to apply for some time.
